This Year's Virtual Hiker Dogs

Meet R.J...
Woo Woo! My name is R.J. and I am the new kid on the block. I am so glad to be here, I have to tell you it was a close call. You see, I am blind. My owner felt sorry for me and bought me through a puppy mill, but then realized she could not afford to care for me. She was ready to send me North of the Rainbow Bridge until a wonderful vet tech called MaPaw.

Please don't feel sorry for me! I have settled into a special foster home and I act like a regular puppy even though I can't see. It's not bad at all, blind dogs have wonderful, happy lives and I even get special attention sometimes.

I am hiking in honor of my foster mom and dad's dog, Rex, who was a virtual hiker last year. Rex is a fur-angel now and I plan to make him proud and get lots of pledges for the rescues.

I may be small, but I have lots of puppy energy! Please pledge with me!
Meet Callie...
Greetings! My name is Callie and I am happy to be back virtual hiking at Hike N Howl 2009!

I introduced myself to you last year ~ MaPaw took me in when I really needed a friend. I was only ten months old. I am an epileptic and began having seizures when I was very, very young. My family could not afford the medical care to regulate my seizures so I joined the MaPaw family.

I have been in rescue for over two years now. My seizures are not nearly as frequent as they once were, but I still have them from time to time. The past seizures have taken their toll and I have suffered some brain damage. Nothing that affects any of my functions ~ I sometimes stumble or fall over when I am just standing there and I have a slight delay in responding, but I am a silly, happy girl.

My foster mom and dad say I am very special and I will stay with them forever. I am part of Husky Hospice and MaPaw is my family.

Please help me raise money for the other huskies in need. Make a pledge today!

Meet Dakota...
Howdy, My name is Dakota and I am strapping on my sibe sneakers as a Virtual Hiker for Hike N Howl 2009!

My story started out sad ~ I was one of nine huskies removed from a home where we were left for days without food and water and very little socialization. Thanks to MaPaw and Delaware Valley Siberian Husky Rescues we were all brought into rescue where we were safe and sound!

Most of my fur-family has found their forever homes through the rescues. I was very timid and scared and I still need a little encouragement around new people. But I am a brave boy and have learned that life and people can be good.

I am ready to find my own fur-ever home now, but first I want to thank everyone at DVSHR and MaPaw by helping them raise much needed funds to help other huskies like me in need!

Please help me to help them. Make a pledge today!
DVSHR Dogs and Volunteers...
This group shot is full of smiling faces! DVSHR volunteers love to show off our wonderful Siberians at events like the Hike N Howl. Every step our rescue pups take towards their "Furever Home" is made possible by generous people like yourself. By choosing to pledge your support, you help make sure the smiles stay in place!

Thank you for your support!
